Good I think it would be great if the number of women in government reflected the number of women in the population.
I think it should be clear that when a woman applies to be a candidate, it should be ensured that they are, in fact, female and not a male person who identifies as a woman. This would completely undermine the idea of increasing the number of women in Senedd. I believe that men can identify as what they believe a woman is, and can live their life according to how they think women live, but they cannot actually be women.
I would imagine if the rules made this clear that 'women' only referred to females, and that trans identifying males should be exluded, then the system of enforcement you suggest should be fine.
Are there any potential barriers to the implementation of the Bill’s provisions? If so, what are they, and are they adequately taken into account in the Bill and the accompanying Explanatory Memorandum and Regulatory Impact Assessment?
Are any unintended consequences likely to arise from the Bill?
What are your views on the Welsh Government’s assessment of the financial and other impacts of the Bill?
What are your views on the balance between the information contained on the face of the Bill and what is left to subordinate legislation? Are the powers for Welsh Ministers to make subordinate legislation appropriate?
Do you have any views on matters relating to the legislative competence of the Senedd including compatibility with the European Convention on Human Rights?
Women are oppressed as a sex class and legislation that protects and supports women in all walks of life should be encouraged. But please don't let trans identifying men take away places and opportunities for women. Thank you
